Wine tasting in Oregon's Willamette Valley? Discover some of the best wineries in Dundee, Oregon with our Dundee wineries guide.
Dundee Wineries Region
The Dundee Hills AVA, established in 2004, holds a very special place in Oregon winemaking history.
Known as the epicenter of Oregon Pinot Noir production, Dundee Hills wineries have been producing some of the world's best Pinot Noir since the area's first plantings in 1966. The rich volcanic soils and high-elevation terrain of the Dundee Hills AVA make it perfectly suited for growing Pinot Noir grapes.
This AVA is also rich with pioneering families that laid the foundation for today's booming Oregon wine industry. They include the Eraths, Knudsens, Durants, Letts, Langes, Stollers, and Sokol Blossers.
Currently there are nearly 50 wineries in Oregon's Dundee Hills AVA. Located about 30 miles Southwest of Portland and 40 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and Oregon Coast, this AVA has more B-Corp-certified wineries than any other AVA globally.
If you want a quintessential Oregon wine-tasting experience with world-class wines, my first stop would be the Dundee Hills.

About this wine tasting guide
This guide will be updated when new information is available, but please do visit each winery's website for the absolute latest wine-tasting reservation details. As we know, things are changing extra fast these days.
All of the Dundee wineries featured here are ones that Alain and I have personally visited and enjoyed. We've been wine tasting in the Willamette Valley for 25 years, and some of our absolute favorite wineries and wines can be found in the Dundee area.
Thank you for supporting these Oregon wineries!
Alit Wines
Situated at the corner of the stoplight that marks the start of main street of Dundee, Oregon, you'll find the Alit wines tasting room. Unlike traditional wine clubs, at Alit you can join their Collective. For $100 per year, you are able to order Alit wines at any time, at the production cost price - no markups. That means you can get the 2020 Alit Rosé for $18.50 instead of $33.64. And a $66 Oregon Pinot Noir is just $33 for Alit Collective members.
Alain and I have been members for a couple of years and really enjoy this type of wine club. We are able to order the wines we want instead of getting a set allotment selected by the winery. And when their Champagne is available (that's right: Champagne, not sparkling wine), it makes the Collective absolutely worth it!

Archery Summit
Archery Summit is set atop a beautiful hillside, with lovely vineyard views and Oregon's only cave system built directly into bedrock. They specialize in Oregon's top two varietals: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. As Pinot Noir is a very terroir driven grape, Archery Summit produces distinctive Pinot Noir from four different AVAs: Dundee Hills, Eola-Amity, Ribbon Ridge, and Yamhill-Carlton. This is a fantastic winery to really taste the influence of the land in the different AVAs. In our opinion, they produce some of the best wines in the region.

Argyle Winery
Argyle Winery was one of the first to produce sparkling wine in Oregon in 1987, and continues to make some of my favorite sparkling wines to this day. Their large tasting room located right on HWY 99-W has plenty of indoor and outdoor space. This is the best place in all of Oregon to taste through a wide variety of sparkling wines, but don't miss trying the Argyle Pinot Noir.

Cramoisi Vineyards
You can't help but fall in love with Cramoisi Vineyards. Sofia and Ryan McKay purchased the land in 2011 and planted their first grapes in 2012. Following biodynamic practices, this micro boutique winery has about 6 acres of Pinot Noir planted and a little less than 1 acre of Chardonnay planted.
Wine tasting at Cramoisi Vineyards is a truly special, personal experience. Sofia hosts all of the wine tasting experiences herself, and tastings can be in either English or Spanish.

De Ponte Cellars
Specializing in Burgundian-style wines, De Ponte Cellars is in the heart of Dundee Hills. They make excellent Pinot Noir, but you absolutely must try their Melon de Bourgogne.
The De Ponte Cellars Melon de Bourgogne is the story of happy accidents. The original growers thought the grapes they planted would be Pinot Blanc, but they turned out to be Melon. Melon is not grown in many places in the US, and I absolutely adore the Melon de Bourgogne at De Ponte Cellars. Give it a try and let me know if you fall in love with it, too!

Dobbes Family Estate
Dobbes Family Estate has grown tremendously since founder Joe Dobbes and team worked their first harvest for the label in 2002. In addition to the Dobbes Family Estate label, they also produce the Wine By Joe label, which is an entry level wine found widely throughout the US (and, I must note, Alain's favorite everyday Pinot Noir). Yet Dobbes still remains a family-owned business, and wine tasting here still feels like a warm, cozy, classic Oregon-friendly experience.
Wine tasting tip: Dobbes is open until 6pm, whereas most other area wineries close at 5pm. So it's a great winery to visit toward the end of your wine tasting day.
My favorites: the Sundown Syrah and Grand Assemblage Pinot Noir.
Wines for the Dobbes label: Pinot Noir, Rosé, Viognier, Muscat

Domaine Drouhin
The Drouhin family has been making wine in Burgundy, France since 1880. A century later, Joseph Drouhin envisioned the Dundee Hills as the next spot to grow and produce Burgundian varietals. In 1987 he purchased 225 acres and Domain Drouhin has been producing incredible Burgundian-style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay ever since.
Tasting the fine wines produced here provides a lovely blend of Burgundy and Oregon. The winery most definitely transports you to France, but the warm, welcoming, friendly vibe is decidedly Oregon. I really appreciate places like Domaine Drouhin that make incredibly sophisticated wines with down-to-earth, wine-is-for-everyone mentality. And, the winery is set among gorgeous sloped vineyards with sweeping views.

Durant Vineyards
For a truly unique Oregon wine tasting experience, I highly recommend visiting Durant Oregon. Wine tasting here offers some of the most beautiful views of the valley.
In addition to the vineyards and winery, Durant also has an on-site olive mill, creating some of my absolute favorite olive oils. I use them almost every day! Plant lovers will appreciate Durant's lush grounds and nursery, where you can purchase lovely flowers, plants, and trees. And the Durant gift shop is one of the best places to find locally made food and beverage gifts.

Dusky Goose Winery
Dusky Goose Winery is tucked away off of Dundee Hills' Worden Hill, home to some of the Willamette Valley's best vineyard sites for Pinot Noir. The warm and welcoming wine tasting house offers wide views of the winery's 9-acre Rambouillet Estate vineyard.
Their wines are elegantly crafted by famed Oregon winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash, and I absolutely love their Pinot Noirs. But it's their Chardonnay that makes me swoon. I guarantee that this is a Chardonnay that will sway anyone who swears they subscribe to the ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) wine drinking philosophy to the Chardonnay drinking camp!

Fox Farm Vineyards
Located on the main street of Dundee, Oregon, on HWY 99-W between Alit Wines and Argyle Winery, is the Fox Farm Vineyards tasting room. Fox Farm Vineyards is a small production winery with wines you won't find in any stores. You can only purchase Fox Farm Vineyards wines at their tasting room, online, or by joining their wine club. Although you may find them on wine lists at restaurants around the country.
The Fox Farm Vineyards tasting room is warm and inviting, and owners David and Desiree are usually the ones pouring the wines. It's a friendly atmosphere and welcoming way to enjoy an Oregon wine tasting experience.

Knudsen Vineyards
The Knudsen Vineyard legacy is an important one in the establishment of Oregon as a premier wine region. Cal and Julie Lee Knudsen purchased the first parcel of land, a former walnut orchard, in 1971, and planted the first vines. By the following year, their plantings were the largest in Oregon. By 1975, they formed a partnership with another Oregon wine industry pioneer, Dick Erath, and together they built the first commercial winery in Dundee Hills.
Knudsen Vineyards grew grapes for esteemed Oregon wineries such as Erath and Argyle for 25 years and then in 2014, the second generation of Knudsens produced the first wines under the Knudsen Vineyards label. The 2012 Knudsen Vineyards Pinot Noir was divine, and I've been enjoying the Knudsen Vineyard wines since that first release - and you will, too.
The tasting experiences here are warm and inviting, casual and informative, with one of the most breathtaking views from the tasting room. They also have snack options for purchase. This is a definite stop for those new to Oregon wines, and those who have been appreciating Oregon wines for a long time.

Now under the leadership of the second generation, siblings Alex and Alison Sokol Blosser, Sokol Blosser winery continues its commitment to sustainable winegrowing and winemaking.
The winery is a certified B-Corp and was the first winery to receive LEED certification. It has beautiful views and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. Food is available for purchase to go with your tasting; outside food is not permitted.

Stoller Family Estate
When out of town guests come to visit the Willamette Valley, they are often taken to Stoller Family Estate. The now-sprawling winery has some of the most magnificent vineyard views, largest variety of wine tasting spaces and experiences, and it's just a great spot to learn about and enjoy Oregon wines.
While the newer Experience Center is shiny and modern, the Stoller family roots run deep in Oregon. The Stoller family purchased the land in 1943 and began the vineyard 50 years later. Now, 25+ years later, Stoller has 400 acres and was the first winery to receve LEED Gold certification.

White Rose Estate
White Rose Estate is a small, artisanal winery that makes produces about 3,500 cases annually. Their focus is on whole cluster Pinot Noir, and I think they make some of the most elegant, expressive Oregon Pinot Noirs in the state. The higher elevation of their vineyard allows for longer fruit hang time and later harvests, resulting in balanced sugars and acids and lovely flavor development.
The White Rose tasting room is an intimate, dark, yet welcoming space that allows you to focus on the wines without distraction. On our last visit, we also enjoyed a pour of magnificent espresso to cap off our wonderful wine tasting before we stepped back out of the cave-like tasting room to enjoy the beautiful surrounding views.
