I adore throwing summer parties, but I try to make them as EASY and SIMPLE to put together as possible. That was the inspiration behind these scrumptious Ricotta Crostini appetizers.

🌟 What makes these crostini great summer for parties

plate full of ricotta crostini with summer berries

Here are 4 reasons why this vibrant Ricotta Crostini appetizer is everything you want in a party recipe:

    • Small ingredient list: This recipe calls for just 5 ingredients. No rushing around to different stores to find what you need!
    • Easy to make: The prep work for these crostini is a breeze -- and there's no baking!
    • Fast: This whole dish comes together in about 10 minutes.
    • Crazy delicious: Bursting with summer berry and honey flavors, this sweet starter will be a memorable kick off to your party.

    🛒 Ingredient notes

holding a single summer berry crostini

All you need to make these sweet appetizers are:

Baguette - You'll need a sturdy bread to hold the cheese and fruit.

Ricotta cheese - This slightly sweet cheese perfectly complements the sweet fruit and honey.

Summer berries - use your choice of raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, or other fruit you enjoy.

Honey and mint leaves - for extra garnish.

    ✅ Step-by-step instructions

honey drizzling over berries and ricotta crostini

    1. Slice the baguette and spread each piece with ricotta cheese.

    2. Top each with a few berries.

    3. Drizzle on some honey.

    4. Sprinkle with chopped mint leaves.

    That's it!

    ❓Recipe FAQs

Can I substitute the Ricotta cheese with something else?

Yes, if you prefer, you can use whipped cream cheese instead?

Can I make Ricotta crostini ahead and store in the freezer?

It's best to make this shortly before serving so the baguette doesn't get soggy and the fruit and cheese don't dry out.

Which wines pair well with crostini

    white wine with ricotta crostini

In my summer food & wine pairing party tutorial, I suggest pairing this Summer Berry Crostini appetizer with a bright & lively Riesling. It's also AMAZING with bubbly!

This dish also pairs deliciously with my Tropical Sangria recipe. So easy to make, and so perfect for summer!

    Ingredients

    • 2 French baguettes
    • 8 ounces ricotta cheese
    • 1 pint mixed summer berries of your choice try raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, Marionberries, strawberries
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 2 tablespoon freshly chopped mint leaves (optional)

    Instructions

    • Slice baguette into 1-½" slices at a diagonal.
    • Spread about a tablespoon of ricotta cheese evenly onto each slice.
    • Top each slice with 3-5 berries of your choice.
    • Drizzle about a tsp of honey over each slice.
    • Sprinkle a few chopped mint leaves over each slice. Serve immediately.

    Notes

    Substitution options:
    • Use whipped cream cheese instead of ricotta cheese.
    • You can use whatever summer berries you have on hand - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, marionberries...
    Cooking tips:
    • Drizzle more honey if you prefer a sweeter summer berry crostini.
    • The mint is optional!
    • Serve immediately. The ingredients will soften the bread, and if left too long, the bread could become soggy.
