Easter Dessert Recipe FAQs
First, place one of the cut-out cake rounds at the bottom of the trifle bowl. Then add a layer of the shredded coconut and vanilla pudding. Top that with a cake layer from the second color of cake. Next, add the whipped cream. Finally, top with Easter candy decorations.
With crinkle cookies, the tops bake before the rest of the cookie is finished, spreading and rising. When the top hardens, it gently cracks and pulls, creating that classic, cracked top.
Avoid overmixing the batter. This is often the reason most cakes turn out dry. Mix the wet and dry ingredients just until they’re fully combined. Then add fruit or chocolate chips if your recipe calls for them, and pour the into the prepared cake pan!
To prevent bundt cakes from sticking to the pan after baking, simply spray the inside crevices of the pan with nonstick cooking spray before you pour in the batter. I also like to very lightly flour the inside for better release from the pan after the cakes are cooked.
Cheesecake can crack when it’s baked for too long or when the cream cheese filling mixture is overmixed. Use room temperature cream cheese can help prevent overmixing. Placing the springform pan in a water bath while baking can also keep it from cracking.
