Strawberry season is, in my opinion, one of the most delicious seasons! These Strawberry Fruit Popsicles are a delicious way to celebrate summer that the whole family will love!

Making strawberry popsicles from scratch is super easy. And they are so much better for you than store-bought treats. But you don’t have to wait for fresh strawberries to pop up to enjoy the bright, fruity flavors. They can be made all year long with frozen strawberries.

Now, these are a permanent fixture in my freezer door. In the sweltering summer heat, they’re cool, refreshing, blissful bites. And the rest of the year, they bring us a delicious concentrated burst of summer sunshine.

Why you’ll love this family favorite recipe!

Once you make these strawberry popsicles, it will be hard to go back to store-bought! We love them because:

  • You know exactly what’s in them. No mysterious dyes or artificial flavors here.
  • They’re so fast to make. You can whip these up faster than it takes to head to the store.
  • Popsicles are a delicious way to keep the family hydrated during heatwaves.
  • You control exactly how much honey or maple syrup goes in (if adding any at all).
  • It’s a kid-approved treat. Even the pickiest eaters can’t resist a bright red popsicle!

Ingredient notes

bowls of ingredients to make strawberry fruit popsicles on ice.

You only need three ingredients to make these strawberry fruit popsicles! I’m including notes on some additional options too.

  • Strawberries – Use the ripest berries you can find for a natural, intense sweetness that carries the entire flavor profile. Or, use frozen strawberries. Both work!
  • Water – This thins the puree just enough to pour easily into the molds without diluting the punchy fruit taste.
  • Sugar – This adds a little sweetness. You can substitute agave nectar for a vegan option, or you can substitute honey.

Optional ingredients:

  • Lemon juice– A splash of acidity brightens the berry notes and prevents the color from dulling.
  • Greek yogurt– A tablespoon or two creates a creamier “creamsicle” vibe; omit it if you prefer a classic clear fruit ice.

Step-by-step instructions

You’ll find the full list of ingredients along with measurements, and more detailed instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. Here are some step-by-step photos and brief instructions so you can see just how easy this is to make!

Blend: Process your fruit, sweetener, and water until the mixture is completely smooth.

Pour: Carefully fill your popsicle molds, leaving a tiny bit of space at the top for expansion.

Set: Insert the sticks and place them on a level surface in your freezer.

Freeze: Let them chill for at least 4 to 6 hours or until completely solid.

Unmold: Run the base of the mold under warm water for a few seconds to release the pops effortlessly.

That’s it! So easy, right?

Recipe FAQs

Can I use frozen strawberries?

Yes, just let them thaw slightly before blending so they incorporate easily with the liquid ingredients.

Can I add chunks of fruit to the popsicles?

Absolutely! Dropping thin slices of fresh strawberry into the molds before freezing adds a beautiful visual touch and a fun added texture.

What if I don’t have popsicle molds?

Small paper cups and wooden sticks work perfectly in a pinch.

How long do these strawberry fruit popsicles stay fresh?

They are best if eaten within two weeks, as they can eventually develop freezer burn or lose flavor.

Serving suggestions

Serve these poolside on a bed of crushed ice to keep them from melting too quickly. If you’re having a pool party, these would be great served alongside other refreshing treats, like Strawberry Peach Smoothies and Strawberry Spritz mockails.

They also make a fun addition to a summer barbecue spread when placed upright in a shallow bowl of fresh mint leaves. Serve them as a refreshing BBQ finish to Grilled Shrimp Pineapple Skewers and Summer Slaw.

For a fun “poptail,” try dropping a finished strawberry popsicle into a glass of chilled Prosecco or sparkling water.

And speaking of wine…

🍷 🥂 Wine pairings

If you’re serving wine around the same time, here are two wines that would pair well with the fresh strawberry flavors of these popsicles:

Moscato d’Asti: The light bubbles and peach notes dance beautifully with the tart strawberry.

Rosé d’Anjou: This slightly sweet French rosé has a red-fruit profile that mirrors the popsicle perfectly.
