Anthem of the Seas Pre-Inaugural Sail

While I love traveling, I have to admit that I've never considered myself a "cruise" person. I realize there's a whole cruise culture out there, and I am about to get a taste of it!

Three more sleeps before my flight to NJ. Four more sleeps before I board the Royal Caribbean's newest and most technologically advanced cruise ship, Anthem of the Seas for the pre-inaugural media sail.

    I AM SO EXCITED!

Here's a sneak peek: Anthem of the Seas began her inaugural sail from Southampton, U.K., earlier this spring. She makes her way into her permanent home of Cape Liberty Cruise Port in New York Harbor this week, and will be starting regular trips to the Caribbean starting next week.

During our pre-inaugural media sail, there are so many exciting features I can't wait to check out. I most look forward to:

The RipCord by iFLY sky diving experience

Dining at American Icon, one of a bajillion dining experience on board. I exaggerate the numbers, but only slightly.American Icon restaurant onboard Anthem of the Seas / UrbanBlissLife.com

An awesome cocktail making session and checking out The Bionic Bar, with robotic bartenders, throughout which I will be singing silently in my head "Hand me the bourbon-o, Mr. Roboto..."

And, with a million work deadlines still to meet, you bet I will be testing out the ship's reported superfast wireless connectivity. Anthem of the Seas is supposed to be the most technologically advanced cruise ship in the entire line of Royal Caribbean ships.

I'll be producing a few videos with the crew and interviewing some of the key players on board, so please feel free to leave me any questions you might have for them in the comments below. Be sure to also follow Urban Bliss Life across all social media platforms so you don't miss a thing!

For all of you who have taken a cruise, I'd love to know: what are your top cruise tips to share? What would you love to see photographs/video of the most from my trip on Anthem of the Seas?

Thereโ€™s little point in learning to sail a boat thatโ€™s a lot different from what you want to have. If my wife and I had taken beginning sailing classes or tried out a Sunfish or a dinghy before sailing something bigger.

I've only been on one cruise, but our cruise ship did NOT have sky diving or rock climbing! Have a great time! Can't wait to read your future posts about your experience!

That ship looks insane! I've also never been on a cruise before and have actually avoided them, so I'll be waiting on your thoughts!

Wow. I've always said that I am not a cruise person too, but my husband really wants me to try one. (I mean, who is really going to complain about a vacation, in general, let alone a tropical cruise.) We'll have to look more into the idea.

I've seen quite a bit of buzz for Anthem of the Seas. I can't wait to see your photos / posts. If it lives up to expectations, it will be amazing!

I've been on a Royal Caribbean cruise before and loved it, even though the ship was older (this trip was quite a few years ago). I was amazed as we talked to various people working on the ship all the diversity of countries everyone came from so that it was a bit like the whole United Nations in staff there. I would love to hear how they accommodate different diets - RC offered Indian food (the same Indian food the Indian staff was making and eating themselves) to vegetarian F during our cruise and he was thrilled to have so much flavor and not be confined to a lot of salads and pastas.

I'm really curious to hear about your experience! I've never been on a cruise, and am not sure it is a match for me. I'm sure your recap will provide me with an answer.
