- Place a thawed sheet of puff pastry on a large cutting board.
- Apply the chocolate hazelnut spread to it.
- Cover with a second pastry sheet.



- Slice into 12 long strips.
- A pizza cutter works great for this.



- Gently twist each strip and place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Brush them with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle on cinnamon sugar.


- Bake for about 15 minutes at 400°F.
- They should be done when they're golden brown.

Puff Pastry Chocolate Twists (Nutella Pastry Twists)
Equipment
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 package (8 ounces) frozen puff pastry, thawed to room temperature
- ½ cup chocolate hazelnut spread like Nutella
- 1 egg, lightly beaten, plus 1 teaspoon water to create an egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
Make the cinnamon sugar
- In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.
Assemble the twists
- On a large cutting board, place one of the thawed sheets of puff pastry.
- Spread the chocolate hazelnut spread over the puff pastry sheet.
- Then place the second puff pastry sheet on top, aligning the edges of the puff pastry sheets.
- Using a pizza cutter or knife, slice into 12 long strips.
- Use your hands to gently twist each strip and place on the prepared baking sheets. You should be able to fit 6 twists onto each baking sheet.
- Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the entire tops and sides of the twisted dough with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over each.
Bake
- Bake at 400°F for 15-17 minutes, until the tops and sides are a nice golden brown and you can tell the puff pastry is baked the whole way through.
