    🌟 Why this recipe works

several green jello shots topped with whipped cream and colorful marshmallows on a cake pedestal.

These easy green jello shots are irresistible!

    • Easy - If you've never made jell-o shots before have no fear! This is a super easy recipe to make!
    • Simple ingredients - You just need three simple ingredients: green jello powder, apple flavored vodka, and water.
    • Versatile - With just a few different changes in flavor of jello and decorations, you can make lots of different variations of fun jello shots!

    🛒 Ingredient notes

box of jello, bottle of apple vodka, and cup of water on a bright green table.

You only need three ingredients to make these green vodka jello shots!

    • Green gelatin powder - You'll need one 3-ounce box of green jello powder. You can use either green apple flavor or lime jell-o flavor -- both are great with these jello shots!
    • Apple vodka - Use a good apple vodka, and not a super sugary vodka mix. We like Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka.
    • Water - You'll need 1-¼ cups of water (cold water) to bring to a boil.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Recipe FAQs

individual green jello shot topped with whipped cream on a white plate.
How long do jello shots last?

Jello shots will last 3-5 days in the refrigerator. After that, you can still eat the jello shots, but be aware that the flavor starts to fade and consistency starts to change after that.

What's the best way to store jello shots?

Store jello shots in plastic containers with lids in the fridge for up to 5 days.

    Can I add more alcohol?

Do not add more alcohol than the amount recommended in this recipe or any other jello shot recipes. If you use too much alcohol, the alcohol will not chill to a solidified (or in this case, jiggly) state.

My jello shots aren't setting. What happened?

Two things can cause jello shots to not set. If you didn't fully dissolve the jello powder in the hot water, that can cause it not to set. Also if you use too much alcohol and not enough of the other ingredients, then your jello shots may not set correctly.

    🍽 Serving ideas

These easy green jello shots are so fun to serve at St. Patrick's Day. We love serving them after delicious Easter desserts like Easter Egg Cheesecake, Mini Egg Cookies, and Easter Brownies.

You can also use this recipe as a base for other green jello shots:

    • Christmas jello shots - Serve these at your next Christmas party without any decorations and they can be served as Christmas jello shots. Or top with whipped cream and a single mini red cinnamon heart to make Grinch Jello Shots.
    • Lime margarita jello shots - Use lime jello powder, swap the apple vodka with a mix of tequila blanco and lemon-lime soda, and top each with a lime wedge.
    • Green apple jello shots - Use apple jello powder with the apple vodka and top with whipped cream and green apple gummy bears.
    • Halloween jello shots - only fill ⅓ of each cup with this green jello shot recipe, then add layers of an orange jello shot mixture and top with a black or purple jello shot mixture.

    🍳 Kitchen tools and equipment
