Ace Urban Bliss Dog

We’ve always had labrador retrievers in our family. They’re so fun, active, and full of love.

Right now, we’ve got Ace – AKA Urban Bliss Dog – in our family. He is a super sweet, friendly, very active black lab retriever who loves every person and every animal he meets. And, he LOVES treats. He’s 500% motivated by food.

Frozen Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats

The first time I made these frozen peanut butter banana dog treats for Ace, he was SO excited! He loves these so much, and I hope your special pup loves them, too!

What you need to make these homemade frozen dog treats

dog paw mold and dog bone mold

To make these treats for your special dog, you just need:

A high powered blender – Use a high powered blender to blend the 3 ingredients together. If you don’t have a blender, you can also use a food processor. Just be sure to blend all of the ingredients until smooth.

Silicone molds – I have this adorable dog paw mold and this dog bone mold. You can find silicone molds in many other shapes but these are the two I use frequently for dog treats. They end up being so cute! And, the treats are just the right size – not too big and not too small.

3 Ingredient Dog Treats

3 ingredients to make frozen peanut butter banana dog treats

This recipe is SUPER simple and has just THREE ingredients:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Banana
  • Plain or Vanilla Yogurt

That’s it!

How to make frozen peanut butter banana dog treats

Blend them all together in a high-powered blender until smooth. This usually just takes a minute or two.

Spoon the blended mixture into the molds. I use a tablespoon measuring spoon and find that one tablespoon usually fills about one and a half mold openings for these two particular silicone food molds.

Place the molds in the freezer for 2 hours, or until the treats are completely frozen.

Store treats in the freezer and remove from the freezer to feed to your dog(s) one at a time.

My dogs love this. They walk over to the chest freezer now when ever it’s hot telling me they want another one.

I used an ice cube tray because I didn’t have a mold. My pittie loves them! She loves to snack on ice cubes, so I think this was a fun twist on one of her favorite treats. Thank you!!

Strange you would make a treat for dogs using yoghurt? Yoghurt contains lactose and dogs are lactose intolerant, are they not?

    1. Marlynn Jayme Schotland says:

No, dogs aren’t all lactose intolerant. We feed our dogs one or two of these little bites at a time, and they love it. These are treats, so they are not meant to be served in large amounts at a time. I would not feed dogs large amounts of yogurt as it might upset their stomach (the same as it would affect many humans who eat too much dairy). There are several articles about feeding dogs yogurt. Here is one: https://www.purina.com/articles/dog/nutrition/can-dogs-eat-yogurt. As always, every dog is different so you should check with your vet about foods specifically for your dog. Our dogs have always loved these!
