Craving a decadent dessert AND a cocktail? Try this easy dairy free ice cream recipe for Boozy Chocolate Peanut Butter Floats!
At the end of a long day, I sometimes crave something sweet. And when I say sometimes, I mean all the time.
As we make this transition from spring to summer, I’ve created a mouthwatering solution that feeds my dairy-free dessert needs: Boozy Chocolate Peanut Butter Floats. It’s like a celebration in a glass!
If you love chocolate, ice cream, and you like a cold beer now and then, you’ll love this, too.
Dairy Free Ice Cream Recipe: Boozy Chocolate Peanut Butter Floats
I wanted to do something extra decadent and delicious with some Irish Stout beer we picked up in honor of my upcoming trip to Ireland. I don’t always enjoy a pint on its own, so I combined it with some Coconut Bliss non-dairy ice cream. The result? A delicious dairy free ice cream recipe!
The result: a refreshing, chocolatey boozy treat! Perfect for warmer days ahead or for bringing the sunshine inside.
The hearty stout is brightened up with the cold and creamy crowd-favorite flavor combo of chocolate and peanut butter in the Coconut Bliss dairy-free ice cream. Then, I made a quick and easy dairy-free chocolate syrup to drizzle over the top.
What’s fun about this syrup is that, after a minute of hitting the cold ice cream, it hardens like the classic magic shell syrup from childhood. Such a fun added texture to the top!
Cold beer + chocolate peanut butter ice cream + chocolate syrup? What’s not to love?

This dairy free ice cream recipe for boozy floats would honestly be amazing with any one of these flavors! We had the Chocolate Peanut Butter in our freezer, so that’s what I used—and the flavors work beautifully together!
Even if you are not lactose intolerant, you will love this dairy free ice cream recipe. These treats are so rich, creamy, smooth, and yummy. They taste as good as “the real thing” without all the questionable ingredients!
Can these floats be non-alcoholic?
Yes, absolutely! Simply substitute the beer with almond milk, chocolate milk, root beer, soft drink of your choice, or even hot cocoa in a mug.

This looks like one of those "don't knock it till you've tried it" things for me. I'm not keen on stout and ice cream, but I'd definitely give it a try. On the other hand, I've sampled Coconut Bliss Ice Cream before, and I'd happily accept a bowl sans stout. It's so good!

Let me know how you like it! Thanks, Renee!

Rootbeer floats were such a special treat when I was growing up: My dad would make them for us on special occasions, or just when he wanted to make us feel especially cared for. I've never had a boozy version, though! I'm pretty sure this recipe would make me super nostalgic.

That's so sweet! I love when a recipe can remind you of home! :)
