  • Ready in under 5 minutes – The recipe is easy to make and is done in just a few minutes, so you can enjoy your tasty milkshake right away!
  • Only 3 ingredients – No fancy syrups or hard-to-find ingredients needed.
  • Craveable – Thick, creamy, and packed with cookie chunks, this is the ultimate homemade milkshake that’s perfect for dessert, hot summer days, or whenever a sweet craving strikes.

Ingredients

three bowls of ingredients to make cookies and cream milkshakes.
  • Ice cream – Use your favorite vanilla ice cream. Or, if you want extra cookie flavor, you can use cookies and cream ice cream.
  • Milk – For a thicker, creamier texture, use whole milk. Or if you prefer milk alternatives, almond milk and oat milk are great options.
  • Cookies – Crush up everyone’s favorite chocolate sandwich cookies – Oreos – by placing them in a ziplock bag and lightly crushing them with a rolling pin. You don’t need to bash them into a thin layer, you want small chunks of cookies for the milkshake and as toppings.

Optional: You can also mix in a tablespoon of peanut butter or a teaspoon of vanilla extract into the milkshake for boosted flavor!

Topping ideas: extra crushed Oreos, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce.

How to make it

Making this milkshake really couldn’t be easier. Here’s what you need to do:

Combine ice cream, milk, and cookies in a blender.

Blend until smooth but still slightly chunky. You want some crunchy cookie texture.

Pour into a tall glass and top with whipped cream and crushed cookies.

That’s it!

Ways to customize it

Milkshakes are really versatile, so you can easily add your own twist based on your tastes and preferences. Here are a few ideas:

  • Swap vanilla for chocolate ice cream for extra chocolate flavor.
  • Use a spoonful of peanut butter or Nutella for a richer, nuttier taste.
  • Include a banana for some fresh, fruity flavor.
  • Add in chopped pretzels to get a crunchier texture.
  • Make it minty with some mint extract.

Can you make a vegan cookies and cream milkshake?

Yes! Oreo cookies are vegan, so you just need to use your favorite dairy-free or non-dairy ice cream, along with your favorite non-dairy milk.

What’s the best way to store milkshakes?

Milkshakes are best enjoyed right after they are made. However, without any additional toppings, you can place the milkshake into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for one or two days.
