Our 2 Days in Seattle adventure continues with the place we rested our tired feet and sleepy heads after long hours of walking and exploring. When choosing accommodations for travel, I tend to prefer smaller boutique hotels to large convention center-esque hotels. So when given the choice between two hotels for my 2 Days in Seattle trip, I almost immediately chose the Alexis Hotel.
Alexis Hotel Seattle
Part of the Kimpton family of hotels, the Alexis Hotel is located on First Avenue and Madison in downtown Seattle. It is conveniently located near Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, and a plethora of shops and restaurants.
Modern Decor
What I love most about boutique hotels is the décor. When staying out of town, décor plays a huge role in the success of my stay. I’m highly visual and if I’m staring at ugly furniture, wallpaper, or artwork, it affects how I feel about the entire experience. The décor at the Alexis Hotel is tasteful, sophisticated, and classic with modern patterns, textures, and an eclectic mix. I loved it.
Excellent Hotel Service
The service was stellar at the Alexis Hotel. From the moment we left our car with the valet to the moment our car was returned to us, every staff member was friendly and helpful. We were greeted with an incredibly kind note, which showed they clearly did their research on me (note the highlighted suggestion on where to find “bacon pancakes” – nice touch!).
In addition to the note, was a generous plate of fresh fruit (a very nice welcome after a long trip in traffic), box of Seattle’s Chocolates (yum!), and chilled wine, accompanied by another kind welcome note.
Hotel Suites
We received a complimentary upgrade to an executive suite, and were immediately wowed by the size and beauty of the suite. If I am ever to do business in Seattle, you bet I will book this suite. If we ever come back with our kids, you bet I will book this suite. It is perfect for both the business traveler and a family of four.
There is a work desk stacked with delicious options. Love the Kimpton branding on the snacks.
There is also a dining area with a table that seats 6, and a spacious seating area with beautiful credenza.
The bedroom was separate and cozy, and the bathroom had beautiful marble floors with very cool ivory leather walls. In the rooms and throughout the hallways, modern art played a marvelous center stage role.

My husband and I owe many thanks to Kimpton Hotels and The Alexis Hotel for providing us with a truly memorable stay (disclosure: we paid for parking; hotel room was comped) in Seattle. We will most certainly be back, and can highly recommend The Alexis Hotel to anyone traveling to Seattle for business or pleasure.
