Shrimp is one of my top three favorite foods, so I cook with it ALL the time. My family loves making Shrimp Lo Mein and Air Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp.

I always recommend keeping some frozen shrimp in the freezer. Whether we’re talking frozen raw shrimp or pre-cooked shrimp that’s been frozen, shrimp is a freezer staple that’s the perfect ingredient for whipping together a hearty meal for busy weeknight dinners.

And shrimp cooks quickly during conventional cooking methods, but thanks to the Instant Pot and other electric pressure cookers, it’s even easier to get yummy shrimp dinners on the table in a flash!

Pressure cooking cuts down on cooking time, and infuses flavors throughout the shrimp, so it’s easy to have a delicious meal in 30 minutes or less.

How can I tell when shrimp is done?

Shrimp is cooked when it turns white and the pink or orange is a brighter/deeper color. Shrimp also curves when it is done cooking. If shrimp is still translucent and gray, it is undercooked. If shrimp is fully curled into an “O” shape, it may be overcooked.

What flavors work best with shrimp?

Shrimp works well with so many different flavors. Some popular flavors include fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, fresh lime juice, white wine sauces, cocktail sauce, garlic butter, and creamy sauces.

What herbs work well with shrimp?

My favorite herbs to use with shrimp are fresh parsley and dill.

What are some popular seasonings to use with shrimp?

Shrimp easily takes on flavors of seasonings, like Old Bay seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes.

What’s the best way to store leftover shrimp?

Most shrimp meals are best enjoyed soon after they are made, as shrimp doesn’t always reheat as well as other proteins. However, in general, you can allow the shrimp to cool, then store in an airtight container for up to 2 or 3 days.
