Looking for the best place to have breakfast in Covent Garden in London? Make a reservation for Dishhoom restaurant! Arguably London's most famous Indian restaurant, you'll find comforting, flavorful dishes the whole family will love here.
London is a city renowned for its rich tapestry of cultures and cuisines.
During our 5 days in London, our family of four were searching for a place to enjoy breakfast in Covent Garden, near the historic Seven Dials.
This popular, busy shopping, arts, theatre district in the heart of London is home to some of the city's best breakfast and brunch restaurants. And at the top of the list of best spots is Dishhoom.
Dishhoom is a gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Bombay straight to your plate. Nestled in the busy theatre district, this restaurant isn't just a place to eat—it's an experience.
From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a nostalgic era of Bombay's Irani cafés. It's a great spot that's complete with vintage decor, warm lighting, and a welcoming buzz that makes you feel right at home.
And, of course, flavorful, comforting, delicious food and drink that was our best breakfast during our time in London!

Restaurant Vibe
Walking into Dishoom Covent Garden is like stepping into a slice of Bombay history.
The decor is an eclectic mix of dark wood furniture, sepia-toned photographs, and antique mirrors. The soft glow of hanging lamps illuminates the sprawling two-story restaurant.
Even though it's large and spacious, the restaurant's layout has charming nooks and crannies. It evokes the feel of a bustling, yet intimate, Irani café from the 1930s.
The soundtrack of lively conversations and the clinking of crockery add to the convivial atmosphere. It really is a perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast in a good location; a relaxing respite from the bustling Covent Garden streets.
🫖 Breakfast beverage to try
A visit to Dishoom wouldn't be complete without trying their famed Chocolate Chai.
This isn't your average cup of tea. It's a rich, velvety blend of traditional masala chai and indulgent cocoa.
Served piping hot, it's the perfect accompaniment to any breakfast dish or a sweet treat on its own.
The balance of spices and chocolate creates a comforting, aromatic beverage that feels like a warm hug in a cup! I loved it so much and crave it still to this day.
🍽 The Food
Dishoom’s menu is a love letter to Bombay's diverse culinary landscape.
It features a delightful mix of street food, hearty traditional dishes, and innovative creations inspired by the city's eclectic food scene. While there are café classics, there are also seasonal menus.
From the smoky grills and fragrant biryanis to the rich curries and crisp, fresh salads, to the mouth-watering stack of their iconic pancakes, every dish is crafted with care and authenticity.
While the dinner menu sounds divine, their breakfast and brunch options are equally plentiful. Here are the delicious dishes we enjoyed on a recent visit to Dishhoom restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden.
Sweet uttapam stack
Pancake lovers will enjoy the Sweet Uttapam Stack. Uttapam is a South Indian dosa made with fermented lentil rice batter and is similar to a pancake. It’s one of the restaurant's signature dishes that pays homage to its South Indian roots while embracing the global spirit of Dishoom’s menu.
A triple stack of uttapam is topped with creamy shrikhand (sweet yoghurt), fresh berries, toasted coconut flakes, and jaggery syrup.
House granola
The House Granola is a popular choice for minimalists looking for a healthy way to start the day with lighter options.
The Dishhoom granola is made with toasted oats, seeds, cashews, almonds, pistachios and cinnamon. It's then topped with a creamy yoghurt and fresh seasonal fruits.
Breakfast naan rolls
Perhaps the most popular breakfast items on the Dishhoom breakfast menu are the breakfast naan rolls. This iconic dish is a must-try!
We ordered both a Bacon Naan Roll and a Sausage Naan Roll.
The crispy bacon naan roll has streaky bacon, smoky and delicious, wrapped in a freshly baked naan. It's slathered with a tangy tomato-chili jam and fresh herbs.
The sausage naan rolls are similar, but instead of bacon, they are made with Shropshire pork sausage.
The breakfast naan rolls are the perfect blend of British breakfast staple and Indian culinary flair.
Hungry for more? Try The Big Bombay, which is akin to a full English breakfast with some twists.
