Las Vegas may be best known for its casinos and drive-by marriage chapels. But the restaurant scene is just as booming and over-the-top as the rest of Vegas.
The two-mile stretch of LasVegas Boulevard known as The Strip boasts more than 50 world class eateries.
Celebrity chefs flock to Vegas. Giada de Laurentis, Bobby Flay, and Emeril Lagasse all have restaurants in Las Vegas. So do Parisian restaurateur superstars Joel Robuchon and Guy Savoy.
The Strip is like a stepped up mega outdoor food court. You can choose to dine on American, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Italian, French, Korean cuisine and more. Casual burger joints sidle up cozily to fancy formal dining establishments.
During my 3-day girls getaway to Las Vegas, we enjoyed dining at many different establishments. I'm excited to share a few of the highlights here!
We start where every international food tour should start, in my opinion: Paris, France.
Mon Ami Gabi

I have a deep affinity for sweet little French bistros. So I was excited to eat at Mon Ami Gabi, located in the Paris Hotel on The Strip.
The restaurant is one of five locations in the country. And while the monstrous Eiffel Tower replica it sits under feels so oddly wrong, when you step into Mon Ami Gabi, it is almost as if you are transported to a (larger, louder) classic French bistro.
A large French wine list is enough of a selling point for me. But the menu full of bistro classics such as steak frites, crepes, and quiches prepared in traditional French style warms my heart. It helped that our wine was lovely, and our waiter was absolutely adorable.
I decided to break from the classics. And I ordered a meal to satisfy my seafood craving: lobster rolls, with a side salad and delicate, thin, perfectly crisped gaufrette potato chips.
One of my friends ordered the classic Croque Monsieur. A traditional sandiwch with ham, Gruyere cheese, and mornay sauce, served with handcut fries.
Our meals were large and filling, and I found the prices to be quite reasonable. Mon Ami Gabi is a rather large bistro and is reportedly almost always bustling. Reservations are recommended.
Gordon Ramsay's Burger
Planet Hollywood
3667 Las Vegas BLVD South
702-785-5555
Hours: Sun - Thurs 11am - 12am
Fri & Sat 11am - 2am
Right inside Planet Hollywood is Burger. This is a casual burger joint by infamous hot head, extremely talented, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
It's the best place on The Strip to satisfy your craving for, you guessed it, burgers and fries.
For $14-15, you can get your fill of a wide variety of burgers. You can order a classic American Burger, with lettuce, tomato, onions, and cheese. Or you can test your Hell's Kitchen Burger, named after Ramsay's cooking show. This burger has Asadero cheese, roasted jalapeño peppers, avocado, and oven roasted tomato.
I naturally gravitate toward anything with my beloved bacon in it. Therefore, the Farm Burger was calling my name. Duck breast bacon, english sharp cheddar, and of course, a fried egg. Because in 2014/2015, we put a fried egg on everything.
I won't lie: I had mine without cheese and I am fairly certain that my girlfriends who ordered theirs with cheese had juicier burgers. It was delicious nonetheless, and I would definitely recommend the Farm Burger when you're at Burger.
You can order salads and sandwiches at BurGR as well, and the milkshakes that were being served nearby looked heavenly. They also have a large selection of craft beers and cocktails to help you wash down the massive burgers.
Visit the Burger website for more details.
Sprinkles
The LINQ
3545 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 733-0522
If you're a fan of cupcakes like I am, you've no doubt heard of Sprinkles. Touted by The Food Network as "the world's first cupcake bakery" and by the Los Angeles Times as "the progenitor of the haute cupcake craze," Sprinkles is known for its uniform, large, artisan creative cupcake confections.
The Las Vegas location in The LINQ off The Strip is one of 16 locations nationwide. Sprinkles Cupcakes are handcrafted from the finest ingredients, including sweet cream butter, bittersweet Belgian chocolate, and pure Madagascar Bourbon vanilla. The cupcakes are topped with Sprinkles trademark modern dots, rich chocolate sprinkles from France or seasonal sugar decorations. They have treats for you, your dog, and for your vegan and non-dairy pals alike.
You can also get Sprinkles cookies, cupcakes, and ice cream at this location. It's the Sprinkles signature cupcakes that are perfect to help soak up the I-can't-remember-how-many-cocktails-I-had syndrome that often happens in Vegas. They are sweet, rich, and decadent.
So drink up at BLVD Cocktail Company across the street, then head to Sprinkles for a cupcake or five. Then you can attempt to walk it all off by walking merrily down The Strip.
The Henry
The Cosmopolitan

Las Vegas, NV 89109

Breakfast: 6:00am to 11:00am (Daily)
Brunch: 11:00am to 5:00pm (Sat-Sun)

Dinner: 5:00pm to 10:00pm (Daily)
Late Night: 10:00pm to 6:00am (Daily)
Located in The Cosmopolitan in what I consider to be the center of The Strip, The Henry is an old-school classic restaurant with dominatrix undertones, thanks to suggestive art and subtle decor. Think Audrey Hepburn meets 1990 Madonna. Intriguing, yes, and it totally works.
My friends and I enjoyed our last official full meal, a brunch, at The Henry before heading back to Portland. You can dine here for dinner, but based on my experience, I can highly recommend The Henry as a delicious brunch spot.
The Henry offers classic breakfast meals, such as omelets, waffles, french toast, and bacon and eggs, as well as heartier morning fare such as steak and eggs and The Henry's Signature Short Ribs Benedict.
One of my friends opted for the chicken salad wrap:
While I opted for the heavier and oh-so-tasty fried chicken sandwich.
With a side of crispy, salty tater tots, naturally.
This meal was a delicious send-off from Vegas. An indulgent satisfying meal to slap us on the back with a job well done.
Other places to eat in Vegas
We also dined at a few more restaurants not covered here, but these were the highlights. There were so many more places I wanted to try that we just didn't have time or money to check out.
On my hot list: Tom Colicchio's Heritage Steak in the Mirage and Giada's in The Cromwell.
I suppose this means I'll have to go back again. Oh, darn. ;)
Thanks for the tasty memories, Las Vegas!=

I know I'll be slapped for saying this... but Vegas never has interested me. However, the food looks amazing and I may just have to go to eat. lol!

I loved Burgr! I actually had my birthday there so that I could overindulge and get the milkshake which really was amazing. And while I haven't been to the new Sprinkles in Vegas, it is a must stop for me when I go to California.

Oh my! I can't decide which meal has me drooling more! I must go back to Vegas if for nothing else but the food!! I hear they have some good entertainment there too, though!

Yumm I wanted to try the Gordon Ramsey burgers but didn't have the stomach capacity. It's on my list next time. That lobster roll at Mon Ami Gabi also looks so tempting! Thanks for the link up!

Great dining in Vegas. I love doing vegas the right way. I used to have friends who liked to go, stay in cheap hotels, gamble and eat McDonalds the whole time. It was so sad. I tried to expose them to THEHotel (now under a new name?) at Mandalay Bay, dining at the Brazilian steak house at the Mirage, etc. I could go to Vegas just to relax and not have to gamble at all!
