It's time for Spring Summer Outdoor Entertaining Ideas! Here are a few top tips to help get your backyard into top shape for dining al fresco season.
Although it's officially spring, I'm still waiting for true warm weather so we can break out the grill and start enjoying meals outside. During late spring and through early fall, the weather in Portland tends to be just right.
What's not currently just right is the state of our yard and patio... yikes!
After a very harsh winter, weeks of rainfall, and some crazy windstorms, our backyard has seen better days. We finally just hired a new service to help with yard maintenance, and it's already made a BIG difference!
Now our backyard is getting back on track to being Entertaining Central again. We love enjoying evenings together in our backyard. Sometimes, it's just my husband and I enjoying a glass of wine after the kids are asleep, to wind down at the end of a long day. Sometimes, we have a group of friends and family gathering in the backyard for BBQs and brunches. Most of the time, when the sun is shining, our whole family likes to sit outside and enjoy dinner on our patio or we have a picnic on the lawn.
How is your backyard and patio looking this spring? Here are a few tips to help you get your space ready for spring and summer entertaining again!
Spring Summer Outdoor Entertaining Ideas
Tip #12 is on our own list for this summer. I have always loved the idea of gathering around a fire pit as summer nights begin to cool down. What a great way to enjoy the outdoors with loved ones!
Know Your Capabilities; Hire Pros for the Rest
Here's my bonus tip: know your limits. Recognize what you can and like to do on your own, and then hire a professional team for the rest.
My husband and I both work full-time (and then some), and we have two kids and a dog to take care of. Between our schedules, the kids' sports/band/friends/school schedules, and life, we just don't have time to do the weekly lawn and yard maintenance ourselves.
For those of you in the US, we have a ton of options. Check sites like Next Door, local Facebook groups, and Angie's List.
For those of you in Canada (and I know there are a LOT of you!), check out TruGreen. They offer full lawn care, tree and shrub care, and customized programs to help your lawn spring back to life - and stay that way! If you are in Canada, you can contact TruGreen to get a personalized quote for your lawn and yard care needs today.
What about you? What's on your spring outdoor entertaining To Do list right now?
